The school year is just flying by and it's hard to believe that December is already here! As the weather gets colder, please remember to send your child to school with a jacket and gloves. We go outside most days for recess if the weather is above 35 degrees.
This month we will be busy learning how to mulitiply larger numbers in math as well as beginning to learn how to do long division. These are generally difficult concepts for students to grasp in the beginning and require alot of practice to master. Please use the dry erase/wipe off sheet protector pages in your child's homework binder to help him or her practice these skills.
In reading, we will be learning how to summarize a fiction and non-fiction text, and will be writing winter poems using sensory words. In Social Studies, we will be finishing our unit on Jamestown early in the month and then moving on to Colonial Virginia.
Please continue to encourage your child to read nightly, practice their mulitiplication facts to develop fluency, and read over their VA Studies binder. Thank you for all you do to support your child's learning! I really appreciate YOU!!!
