  • Does it cost anything to become a member and do I get anything with my membership?

    Posted by:

The cost is $10.00 per family to join for the year.  The cost goes towards printing the calendars and towards the PTO mission.

You will receive the PTO calendar that includes all X & Y days, sports events, school events, days off, early dismissals and of course, all PTO events.  The calendar also comes with the Stafford County calendar and the handy AGW Middle School Survival Guide.

Knowing X & Y days is important due to the way classes are scheduled in Middle School.  Certain classes are held only on X days or Y days and keeping track of which class to go to is invaluable.  Also, if your student is absent or when we have snow days, knowing X & Y days saves a lot of frustration.

You will also receive PTO Parent emails throughout the year that will keep you up to date with all PTO events.

  • If I join the PTO, do I have to volunteer?

    Posted by:

No, joining the PTO does not mean you will automatically be a volunteer.  We understand that many families in Stafford spend a lot of time commuting or engaging in activities.  Joining the PTO will simply help you stay informed of school and PTO events, as well as keeping track of X & Y days, especially in the event of snow days.

  • What is the Mission and Vision of the PTO?

    Posted by:

The primary mission as a PTO is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every student and support the teachers so that the school will benefit.

The PTO vision is to support A. G. Wright's goal to move instruction into the 21st Century by integrating technology into every English class by providing each student with a Chromebook to use in class.

  • How does AGW PTO support their Mission and Vision?

    Posted by:

In order to get funding for the mission and vision, the PTO does a main fundraiser each year.  The PTO also hosts Spirit Nights and events that include the surrounding community.

  • What type of fundraising does the PTO do?

    Posted by:

The A.G. Wright PTO offers direct donation as its fundraising option. Traditional fundraising is eliminated and parents simply give a direct, tax deductible donation. This way, our school receives 100% of the monies!

  • Can I volunteer with the PTO and why should I?

    Posted by:

Absolutely!  We LOVE our volunteers.  We can always use help.

One reason you might want to volunteer is that we are a small, but busy group.  Some of our events need many hands to make them a success.

Another reason is to show support for your student and our school.

Or, perhaps you might want to become more involved with the PTO and want to get a better idea of what we do.

The PTO is a team effort in which we cannot succeed on our own.
