  • Summer School

    To sign up for summer school click here.   If a student is taking a new credit they must schedule an appointment with their counselor prior to registering for summer school.  Payments are taken in the form of cash, credit card (paid on line) or money order.  No personal checks will be accepted.  Registration will take place from May 15-June 22 (at noon).  Transportation must be provided by the student.  Summer school will be held at North Stafford HS or Brooke Point HS.  Students must choose one location to attend. 

    Behind the Wheel Registration will take place:

    June 5- Colonial Forge HS, 5 pm - 8 pm

    June 20- Brooke Point HS, 8 am - 11 am

  • August SAT Test Date

    For the first time, students will be able to take the SAT and SAT Subject Tests in August.  Taking the exam in the summer is great news for juniors because it allowes them time to meet early application deadlines and focus on classwork as they begin their senior year.  Registration opens in late April for this testing window.  Go to the college board site to sign up by clicking here.

  • Mental Health America of Fredericksburg Teen Support Group

    Mental Health America of Fredericksburg is launching their third 8 week Teen Support Group on Saturday, April 29, 2017. 

    ~The first support meeting will be held on Saturday, April 29 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital from 10-11:30 a.m.

    ~Registration is required.  Click here to download the packet.

    ~It is free to attend.  No referral is needed.

    ~The 8 week session will run fro April 29 thru June 24.

    ~The group will be limited to the first 12 participants who complete and return the registration packet to Mental Health America of Fredericksburg.

    ~When capacity is reached, names will be placed on a waiting list ( in the order the packets are turned in).

  • Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Spend the Night Program

    VT would like to offer a "Spend the Night" program for interested cadets.  Interested students  can stay overnight with a cadet, attend monring physical fitness training with our Citizen Leader Track, attention morning formation, and attend a class with a cadet.  There is close to a 90% retention rate with students who participate in the Spend the Night program and later enroll.  There are nine Spend the Night/Day session for Spring 2017.     There are approximately 200 Emerging Leader Scholarships offered to incoming cadets each year. There is no separate application, it is offered to the top cadet applicants every year.

    FREE tuition assistance for all full-time Virginia residents is available through the state's TAG program.  That means $3,200 toward your college experience, per year- a total of $12,800 over four years that...

    Also, offered is the Virginia Private College Week, July 24-29, 2017 for the Class of 2018.  Prospective students will have the ability to visit participating college campuses and receive three (3) application fee waivers for visiting three or more participating colleges.  For more information on the program click here.

    The Experiences in Architecture program at The Catholic University of America is an intense, three week workshop for high school students interested in architecture or other design-related fields. You will be exposed to both the academic and the professional sides of the architecture arena, as the city of Washington, D.C., becomes your classroom.  For more information click here.

    Virginia State University Gaining Real World Opportunities with Students (G.R.O.W.S.) is a summer program for students interested in becoming teachers.  During this program all travel and room and board expenses are covered for selected students as part of the program participation.  The program is open to upcoming senios.   • Attention All Young Men...
    Do you want to keep your driver's license and be eligible for college loans, job training, government jobs, and citizenship if you're an immigrant?

     Then make sure you register with Selective Services within a month of your 18th birthday!

    Federal law says that you must register.  If you don't, you miss out on all of these opportunities and more.  Don't let that happen to you!  It's quick and easy to register.  It only takes minutes to register online by clicking here or you can register at the post office.

    Ask your guidance counselor for more information, and make sure you remember to register.  Future opportunities depend on it!
