Welcome to Mrs. Berrie's
5th Grade Class!!
I hope everyone is doing well. I know things are going differently than how we had hoped. I miss seeing all the kids and hope you all are making the most of this time with family. Here are some updates and information.
As far as school goes, the 5th grade teachers are planning together to come up with material to provide at home. We will be providing 60 minutes of material each day. This material will be posted on the Rocky Run Website for each grade level so that we are all on the same page.
Starting Tuesday, March 31 at 3pm, we will introduce the Choice Board format incorporating all of the SCPS “at-home activities” through the end of this week.
Beginning Monday, April 6, the Choice Board for each grade level will be updated with a new week’s worth of review tasks and activities. I will send an email to all parents each Monday by 9:00 a.m. as a reminder that the weekly Choice Board has been updated.
If you do not have online access at home, please let me know.
These at-home learning activities are optional. Students do not have to complete them, and they do not impact a student’s grade. However, it will all be very beneficial to your child’s education as well as making sure students are staying knowledgeable on previously taught material. Since no grades will be taken and since every student may not be able to access the online learning, no new material will be taught in this final quarter.
If you need technology at home, you can email or contact the county through the following to be placed on the list for distribution during upcoming dates. Those who have tech needs will be notified with the upcoming opportunities for another device distribution as early as this week:
Remember that students have access to all apps that are on Clever, especially Dreambox and Lexia.
They have access to their math textbook online now as well at this link: https://www.
We are still waiting to be given information on when teachers and students can come to school to gather supplies. When we find out, I will be sure to let you all know.
Report cards will be available through ParentVue this Friday, April 3. If you do not have or know your ParentVue login, please let me know. Report cards will be emailed to parents who don’t have access to ParentVue.
I will keep updating you more as I receive information. I know it is a lot, and I am here if you need me! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need help or have any questions! And, of course, there will be more information to come from me about how I can be made available to your and/or your child for the sake of support and feedback if needed.
Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!!! :)
