What is MATHCOUNTS?
Mathcounts is a nationwide middle school mathematics competition held in various places in the United States. Its founding sponsors include the CNA Foundation, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
How can I join MATHCOUNTS?
In order to become a part of the MATHCOUNT club you must do the following
1) Fill out a MATHCOUNTS permission form
This permission form is for your parents or guardian to fill out, so they can notify the MATHCOUNTS coaches that you have permission to be a part of the club. See Mrs. Richard in Room W-5 for a permission slip.
2) Pay club dues of $10.00.
Each person is expected to pay the $10.00 dues. The reason for the dues is to provide students with snacks after school and also so the students can have their own MATHCOUNTS t-shirt! Please make checks payable to Gayle Middle School.
When will MATHCOUNTS meet?
We will meet every Wednesday starting in October in the forum from 3:00-4:00pm. Students need to come with to the club with a pencil and paper.
