    • Purple Star School Welcome to all of our new students including our large military connected student population.  On this page are a variety of resources that would be important for anyone new to Park Ridge Elementary and to Stafford County Public Schools.  There are also some resources that are specific to our military families.

If you are new to Park Ridge, I hope you find all you need on this website devoted to you.  We are here to help make your transition to our school as easy and comfortable as possible.  Counselors conduct Welcome Wagon groups for all new students at the beginning of the year. Throughout the year, our Ambassadors will escort new students to meet the counselors and others in the building.  Both programs have as their goals, a warm and inviting environment in which all students feel they are important and belong.

If you are a military family, please know that we have a strong commitment to supporting our military connected students.  We have many programs throughout the year specifically for recognizing the sacrifices and contributions you make. We have a wonderful Veteran’s Day program usually on Veteran’s Day or as near to it as possible if we have no school on the actual date.  You will receive information about that and how you can participate and be recognized. In April, we celebrate the Month of the Military Child with a Hall of Heroes and we “Purple Up” on the national recognition day. Additionally, if you and your child are experiencing a deployment, please let us know.   We do offer “Deployment Days” groups if we have enough students with that situation. I also have a military email list, through which I send information from Quantico and Ft. Belvoir with local activities and also from Military One Source.

I, Sharon Stiefel, am the school-based military student support point of contact and Carrie Neeley is the school division point of contact.  The Military School Liaison Officer from Quantico has just recently changed but I am including a link to the School Liaison Program for your convenience.

Please let me know if there is anything you need.  My email is stiefelsr@staffordschools.net and my phone is 540-658-6320 x 123.
