Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Vaglia

I am thrilled  to be your child's first grade teacher!  This is my second year at Stafford Elementary and Virginia.  This is my 19th year of teaching; my 15th year in first grade.

My husband of thirty-three years and I recently moved here from Tampa, Florida.  We have three grown children.  Our two daughters have just moved to the Denver, Colorado area, and our son still lives in Florida. We are a retired Army family.  My husband proudly served our country for twenty-five years.  It was a life our family LOVED. As a result, we moved often.

I love my family, friends, traveling, reading, teaching and outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, running, biking, paddleboarding, and kayaking.  I am passionate about a lot of things!

I believe ALL children can learn.  I believe in the power of YET, perseverance, and kindness.  I instill this in my classroom daily.  I believe we all are able to learn and we all make mistakes ~ that's how we learn.  In fact, when erasers are gone from the pencil in class we throw them away (or recycle them).  I am a very hands on teacher and teach using multiple strategies; visual, auditory, and whole body ways of learning.

I look forward to working with you this year so your child thrives, learns and feels successful.  Our goal is not only to prepare them for second grade, but their future!
