I hope you are all well! Please give my students a hug from me. I really miss them.
Beginning on April 6, there will be weekly activities/lessons for the kids to do. Some will be online, while others will be speaking, reading, or writing activites. You will be able to access everything by going to the Widewater website. Then, you will go to Grade Levels. 2nd Grade. You will be able to see the link on the Second Grade Overview page (not posted until April 6). In the meantime, the children can go to Mrs. Speed's page and go to the Class Resources, if they are looking for some fun online things to do.
Last Wednesday, Mrs. Bingham sent home a packet of fun activities for the students.
I hope your child has had a chance to do some of them.
If your child does not have access to a computer or internet access, you may be able to get a printed copy of most of the activities through the office during meal serving (Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., beginning April 6)
Second Grade teachers will also begin (April 6 - May 29) having office hours from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. This means we will be on our computers at this time to answer any questions or concerns you may have concerning the At Home Learning activities. I hope this will be helpful. If you need to email me at any other time, feel free to do so. I will get back to you within 24 hours.
**Please remember, all activities that we post are optional, do not need to be turned in, and will not be graded. If you're not sure how to do something, do something else that you're comfortable with, like sit down with your child and just read lots of good books! The hope is that students will keep their skills sharp, and be ready when school is back in session in the Fall. Plus, it gives them a routine. If you can set up a specific time in your day, and place in your home, for school related activities, your child will transition back to school much easier in the Fall.
