How to join an advisory committee

  • Would you like to join an advisory committee for the 2021-2022 school year?

     -- The membership application can be found at:

     -- After you have filled it out, please be sure to save it to your computer and then email it to

     -- If you prefer to mail it, please send it to the postal address provided on the bottom of the application form.

     -- The initial deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18. Applications received by this deadline will be submitted to the school board for approval during the August 24 board meeting. All appointees will be notified of their status one to two days thereafter.

     -- However, applications will continue to be accepted after the initial deadline, until all positions are filled. The clerk will be present late application to the school board for approval at the next meeting following the receipt of the application at the school board office.

     -- Note:  Each advisory committee must meet at least once quarterly during the school year.

Advisory Committee Organizers

  • Each advisory committee has an assigned facilitator who is an SCPS staff member. If you have a question about a specific committee, please contact the committee's facilitator. (That person's name and contact information can be found on the committee's webpage.)

    The overall advisory committee program is organized by the clerk of the school board. The clerk processes membership applications and organizes the first (orientation) meeting at the beginning of each school year. Her contact information is provided below.
