Falmouth Elementary School extends a very warm welcome to all of our new students, to include our military connected new students. In an effort to assist in making your transition to our school as easy and comfortable as possible, below is a variety of resources of importance for new families and students arriving at Falmouth Elementary and Stafford County Public Schools. Also provided are some resources and information specific to arriving military families.
FES School Counselors meet with all new students at the beginning of the year. Throughout the year, our 5th grade Ambassadors and Purple Up Military connected students greet new students and escort them throughout the building to meet the counselors and others in the building. An important goal of both of these peer-to-peer support programs is creating a warm and inviting environment in which all students feel they are important and belong.
If you are a military family, please know that we have a strong commitment to supporting our military connected students. We have several programs throughout the year specifically for recognizing the sacrifices and contributions you make. We offer the Purple-Up Club for military connected students in grades 3-5 from September - May. In April, we celebrate the Month of the Military Child and “Purple Up” on national recognition day. Additionally, if you and your child are experiencing a deployment, please let us know - we do offer deployment groups if we have enough students in that situation. I also have a military email list, through which I send information from Quantico and Ft. Belvoir with local activities and also from Military One Source. Please contact me if you would like to be added to the email list.
The school-based military student support point of contact is Jennifer Crane. Mrs Crane can be reached: cranejl@staffordschools.net or 540-373-7458. The SCPS Division Point of Contact is Susan Osborn. The Quantico Military School Liaison Officer is Ms Penny Rowley. For your convenience, the link to the Quantico School Liaison Program is: School Liaison Program.
