Welcome to Gayle Middle School and Fredericksburg, Virginia!
Gayle's staff wants to welcome all our military families to a great school and a very historically rich area of the United States!
Military life has its challenges and benefits and we hope to support you and want to make your transition to our school and area as easy as possible. We currently have staff members and families who are either military connected or have been in the past. We understand the needs, but are always open to your suggestions and will do our best to answer your questions.
We offer resources for you and your family to look over prior to your arrival, including necessary items for registration, information about the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission (MIC3), tutoring websites, and other items we hope will help you with your move to our wonderful area.
Upon arrival, know that we are excited to introduce your child to our school. Our Counseling Department has a terrific student-led Ambassador program that welcomes all new students and helps them learn about Gayle. The ambassadors are friendly and they help all new students feel welcome.
We celebrate our military families at Gayle throughout the school year by recognizing Veteran's Day and April, the Month of the Military Child. We will also offer opportunities and activities specifically for military-connected students. We will post information about our events.
Mrs. Dawn Weisman, our Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (the wife of a retired Navy service member and the mom of three terrific kids) is Gayle's school-based military student support point of contact. She can be reached at weismandm@staffordschools.net or 540-373-0383
