In order to achieve this, we have invested important resources into our site so that it is available to people with disabilities. We believe that website accessibility efforts are vital in ensuring that all users have the right to independence, equality, and ease of use.
Accessibility on www.staffordschools.net
Using the audit tool available at https://www.accessibilitychecker.org/, www.staffordschools.net, our website has been scanned for compliance according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). Since performing the audit, Stafford Schools continues to raise its accessibility standards and now uses a web accessibility widget, Reachdeck, to allow users with disabilities equal access to www.stafford schools.net’s website.

Stafford Schools has multiple options for those with vision and hearing deficits. Stafford Schools utilizes the universal icon for internet accessibility, a circle with a person inside with outstretched arms. This symbol, which activates the accessibility option, is on the bottom right of the screen on the website.
The following actions (among others) are available using the Reachdeck accessibility tool:
-
Text - Users may change the appearance and size of fonts to improve legibility and readability.
-
Text Spacing – White space between blocks of text can help people with cognitive disabilities comprehend sections of a page and call out boxes.
-
Cursor Size – Changing the size of the cursor allows people to locate the cursor more easily.
-
Contrast – Color contrast refers to the difference in light between the foreground (text) and background. Website users who have low vision, low contrast vision, or color vision deficiencies require the ability to change the contrast. Our website allows users to adjust colors or view in black and white.
-
Focus – There are options to assist users with improving focus through a screen mask option.
In addition, Stafford Schools also uses scanning software available on its web hosting platform to notify the webmaster of potential accessibility issues.
