• Welcome to our Art Studio!

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." -Albert Einstein

Choice Based Art Education fosters imagination. Teachers all across the country are discovering a new way to motivate children through the method of instruction known as Choice Based Art Education (Also called Teaching for Artistic Behavior, or "TAB"). Centers are set up in the elementary school art classroom, and students choose which centers to participate in for the day. Choice-Based art education regards students as artists and offers students real choices for responding to their own ideas and interests through artmaking.

In our studio, students can expect to learn and practice fundamental art skills and techniques, aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning, and choose how to practice and experiment with new concepts using a variety of media.

Parents can expect students to be proud and excited about the work they bring home! Students are excited to share their ideas and processes. Students will choose their most successful work to save and exhibit at the county Fine Arts Festival in March.
