Focus on Excellence:
Stafford County's Gifted and Accelerated Program
Welcome to the Margaret Brent Elementary Focus program. The mission of Stafford County Focus program is to provide services for academically gifted students. At the elementary school level, students identified as needing gifted services are cluster-grouped within otherwise heterogeneously grouped classes. As your Focus Resource Teacher, I will meet regularly with identified students and serve as a resource to teachers in meeting the academic needs of highly-capable students. As the Gifted Resource teacher at MBES, I strive to provide enrichment opportunities to all Bobcats through Math Challenge and Word Masters Challenges, collarborative lessons, and extra-curricular clubs, such as Chess Club for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and STEM club for grades 2-5. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding your son or daughter.
If you have any questions, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school at 540-658-6790.
Parents, please know that if you are interested in having your child evaluated for the Focus program this school year, you will need to meet with me to begin the referral process by February 28. The deadline for gifted referrals is March 1.
