Harvesting Literacy

    Fall Into a Good Book!

The first quarter will soon be coming to a close in early November. The children have become acclimated to their daily routines and classroom expectations.

They have also completed all of their beginning of the year assessments across both reading and mathematics.

The Reading Department has started providing support services to many young Patriots at Park Ridge.

If your child brings home a permission slip from the reading department, please read and sign then have your child return it to school as soon as possible.

This slip will tell you about the particular service in which your child has been placed to include a brief explanation of the areas of reading that are being targeted.

When you are scheduling conferences with the classroom teachers in November, you are all welcome to stop by and speak with me, especially if you have any questions about your child reguarding reading.

Don't forget that the Book Fair will be held the week of October 23-27.

Funds from this Book Fair help to support our school library and our teachers and students here at Park Ridge.

Don't forget to encourage your child to read each evening for 20 minutes! Ask them questions about what they read. :)

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns about reading.
