Different ways to substitute with Stafford Schools

As-Needed Substitute

Long-Term Substitute

Work a consistent assignment as the teacher of record for 15 or more instructional days at one specific building.
Take over all duties of the regular teacher, including lesson planning and professional development.
Offered assignments directly by school staff.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher to get the long-term rate. See substitute pay rates for more information.

Incentives

Former teachers received increased pay rates regardless of licensure status.
Bonus rates on Fridays for as-needed substitute teachers.
Turnout incentive: $102.50 bonus for every ten days worked per bonus period. These are 3-4 month periods not associated with the school calendar.

Calendar and Schedules

How to Become a Substitute with Stafford Schools

Submit an application and receive an email confirmation.
Complete the New Substitute Orientation and certify completion.
Schedule an onboarding appointment and bring completed paperwork.
Human Resources will fingerprint you and conduct reference checks.
Once processed, you will receive an email with your employee ID and Phase One training link.
Complete Phase One training to access the employee portal, sub calling system, and required Phase Two training.
