Wellness Policy
Stafford County Public Schools is committed to the optimal development of every student. In order for students to achieve personal, academic, developmental, and social success, learning environments that are positive, safe and health-promoting must be created at every level and in every setting throughout the school year.
This regulation outlines the division’s approach to ensure opportunities for all students to practice healthy eating and physical activity behaviors throughout the school day, while minimizing commercial distractions. This regulation applies to all students, staff, and schools in the division. Specific, measurable goals and outcomes are identified within each section below.

Triennial Assessment
In accordance with the Final Rule of the Federal Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, Stafford County Public Schools is required to assess and publicly post the Triennial Assessment of the Local Wellness Policy. At least once every three years, each school will be assessed to determine compliance with the district’s wellness policy and regulations. The assessment results will be used to make recommendations and updates to the policy. (7CFR§ 210.31)
