2028-2029 Middle School Redistricting
BACKGROUND: Stafford County Public Schools is beginning a middle school redistricting process in preparation for the opening of the replacement Edward E. Drew Middle School in August 2028. The new school will be located at the Oak Knoll Farm site near the intersection of Clift Farm Road and Leeland Road and will add approximately 450 seats to the school’s current capacity.
During its September 8, 2026, work session, the Stafford County School Board reviewed preliminary middle school boundary scenarios. The proposed changes are intended to use the additional capacity at the replacement Edward E. Drew Middle School while considering transportation times, high school feeder patterns, neighborhood stability, projected enrollment, and other criteria established in School Board Policy 1403.

On the panel on the right, choose the scenario for which you would like further information by clicking the checkbox next to the scenario in the "layers" pane.
The School Board may revise the preliminary scenarios or develop additional scenarios as it reviews community feedback. Families will be notified if additional proposals are introduced or if their attendance boundary may be affected.
Stafford Schools will hold the following community meetings regarding the proposed middle school boundary changes:
- September 24, 2026, at Stafford High School from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- October 7, 2026, at Colonial Forge High School from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The School Board is also scheduled to review the proposed boundaries and community feedback during the following meetings:
- October 13, 2026 — School Board Work Session
- November 10, 2026 — School Board Work Session and Public Hearing
- December 8, 2026 — Anticipated School Board Adoption of 2028-2029 Middle School Boundaries
If you are unable to attend a community meeting, we encourage you to provide feedback using this Google Form. All feedback will be considered before a final decision is made by the School Board. Once a final decision is made, you will be notified by mail if your residence was included in the boundary change.
No final middle school boundary changes have been approved. If adopted, the new boundaries are expected to take effect when the replacement Edward E. Drew Middle School opens during the 2028–2029 school year.
