Our Division

  • With thirty-three schools and a variety of supporting departments, Stafford County Public Schools is full of opportunities for professionals of many backgrounds.

SCPS is a welcoming division, where all persons regardless of race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, political affiliation, or disability are provided the tools to thrive. Our inclusive practices cover all programs, services, policies, and procedures of Stafford County Public Schools, including all educational programs, admission to such programs, activities, and employment.

Our division prioritizes the professional growth of our employees. Under the direction of the Department of Learning & Organizational Development, staff development seminars are offered to address school-wide initiatives, including technology, multicultural education, and curriculum strategies. Seminar offerings are numerous and may be utilized for Virginia licensure renewal credit.

We strive to ensure the success of all new teachers by offering a Colleague And Mentor Program called Mentor 360. Through Mentor 360, new teachers are provided a mentor, staff development opportunities, and ongoing support throughout their first year in our division.

Our extensive Wellness Program is available for all employees and their families. The program includes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The education of our children has long been a priority of the citizens and is viewed as a shared responsibility among the schools, parents, and the community. Parents are actively involved in school programs and work closely with teachers and staff. Ample local funding is provided to ensure low pupil/teacher ratios and a varied selection of materials and supplies.

Our division is represented annually at the Fredericksburg Regional Teacher Job Fair to recruit new teachers. Each candidate is granted an interview by an administrator and teacher-recruiter. At the fair, participants can learn more about local organizations and surrounding school divisions.
