Mission Statement:
The mission of the A.G. Wright school counseling program is to provide all students access to a comprehensive counseling program in the areas of academic, personal/social and career development. The A. G. Wright counseling program aligns with both the Virginia State and the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) model which challenges and inspires all students to achieve their academic and personal potential to become responsible, contributing citizens in a global society.

The AGW counseling team would like you to know we are here for you. It's hard facing the unknown, none of us have had to go through anything like this before so we need to be there for each other. Be kind, take care of your family and friends, but take care of yourself as well. We will be adding a Google Classroom page. Your teachers are sharing the Counseling Google classroom link on their pages and the code is twvfobx. You can reach out to us by email too.

Carol Carpenter
The Director of Counseling at A.G.Wright Middle School and Counselor to Sixth Grade students. Mrs. Carpenter graduated from VA Tech with a degree in Human Services and earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from VCU. She has been at AG Wright for almost 20 years, has 2 daughters and is also mom to two rescue pups from Louisiana. AGW students and staff are like her second family!
Monica Bailey
Earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Education from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from VA Tech. She started her counseling career in 1993. At AGW, she is the 8th grade counselor. Ms. Bailey is married with 3 adult children. She has a passion for helping her students succeed in all aspects of their lives.
Denise Miller
Earned a Master’s Degree in Education from VCU with a focus in School Counseling. Ms. Miller is the 7th grade counselor. Ms. Miller has two Siberian Huskies and loves to go hiking with them in the mountains. Ms. Miller is a strong advocate for student resilience and wellness.
Debera Phillips
The Counseling Secretary/Registrar. She is a friendly and welcoming anchor in our Counseling Center. Mrs. Phillips is a mom to 4 Fauquier County graduates and 1 from Fayetteville, AR She also has 2 furry Labrador Retriever children .
