We are preparing to kick off our annual 2018-19 Science Fair! It is so important to motivate students with science. Through a science fair project, students learn how to apply their existing abilities, as well as learn many new skills. A science fair project can involve everything from scientific methodology, reading, logical thinking, writing, grammar, spelling, and math to advanced topics such as statistics, data analysis, computer science, and graphic arts. Students also practice public speaking by explaining and defending their work in front of a panel of judges.
The Science Fair is scheduled for Thursday, February 7, 2019. We are in need of judges for our Science Fair! If you would like to volunteer, we ask that you arrive at Ferry Farm by 9:00 am. To judge the students, we will move in small groups from one grade level to another in an effort to finish efficiently. Our goal is to always finish by noon. To volunteer please sign up on the Science Fair Volunteer Sign-Up 2018-19 sheet.
We hope that you are as excited as we are, to watch your child think like a scientist!
