We are preparing for our annual homecoming festivities. During the week of September 16th, we will hold our annual spirit week, homecoming football game, and the homecoming dance on Saturday, September 21st.
Spirit Week Day Themes are as follows:
Monday: Athlete Day
Tuesday: Safari Day
Wednesday: Western Day
Thursday: Hollywood Day
Friday: Spirit Day (Freshman, white; Sophomores, orange; Juniors, maroon; Seniors, all)
Our Homecoming Dance will be held this Saturday, September 21st from 8:00pm - 11:00pm in the MVHS cafeteria. You can pick up contracts in the main office and from our website. You must have a signed contract and all dues and debts cleared before you can purchase a ticket. Stop by the tables at lunch to pay your dues and debts if you have any. Homecoming tickets will be available Tuesday through Friday during spirit week. Tickets are $20.00 and will NOT be available at the door. Contracts will not be available for pick up on Friday, plan ahead. Students must have a picture ID at the door the night of the dance. If you do not have a picture ID, stop by Counseling this week and they will help you.
Anyone attending the Homecoming Dance will need to be aware of these guidelines:
- All students attending the dance must have a signed dance contract stating they have read and agree to the rules of the dance.
- All students will be issued a wristband upon entry. They will only be given one warning upon which the wristband will be removed. A second instance of inappropriate dancing will result in their removal from the dance.
- If a student is removed from the dance, they will not be allowed to attend future dances, including homecomings and proms.
Please support me by reviewing the rules on the contract, as well as, supporting us when we remove students who do not follow the rules.
I truly want the students to come to the homecoming dance and enjoy themselves. However, I cannot in good conscience be a public servant of this school community and allow this type of dancing to take place. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
