Weekly Update (10/9)

Report Cards - Report cards for the first quarter of 4 x 4  can be accessed through ParentVue and StudenVue after 2:00 PM today.  Like last spring we are not mailing report cards, you can access them through ParentVue and StudenVue accounts.  If there is a reason you need a report card mailed please let us know.

If you need access to ParentVue or you are having login problems - Please contact Shelly Halstead in our counseling department at halsteadsm@staffordschools.net.

If you have any questions about grades, please email the teacher.

I have asked teachers to extend the make-up work window for first quarter 4 x 4 classes over the upcoming weekend.  I don't want our students to have low grades due to work not turned in, especially early when students were adjusting to this Virtual Learning on Canvas.

Three Day New Work Free Weekend - I have asked teachers not to assign new work this week due next week over the three day weekend.  This would be a good weekend for students to get on any make-up work students may be missing.  Even work in the first quarter of the 4 x 4 grading period.  Hopefully this weekend will be a time to breath and catch-up for our students.

Monday is a Holiday - There will be NO asynchronous assignments for students.  I have attached a schedule for next week for easy understanding.

Socio-emotional Survey - As mentioned last week we will be giving a socio-emotional survey to our students next Thursday (Oct. 15) at the end of second block.  I have attached a letter to this weekly update about the survey.  Student well being is important to us so this survey will help us collect some data about our student well being.

No Weekly Update Next Week - I will be out of the office a few days next week, thus there will not be a weekly update for 10/16.

Finally, thank you!  I just want to thank the wonderful parents of the Mountain View community for the partnership in education.  The support you are providing is invaluable as we navigate the waters of virtual learning.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Jim Stemple
